Let’s review the Onetigris iron wall stove tent
The Onetigris stove tent is made up of durable, lightweight, and highly versatile 20D Silicon-coated Nylon. No need to worry about the durability of the zipper as they are made by YKK company which is known for high-quality durable zippers.
After using it many times the zippers are still working fastly without any issue. The skin or the tent is tear-resistant and didn’t make any issue while packing it in its carry bag. Iron wall chimney comes with durable and strong pegs and guy lines that hold the tent in its perfect for a whole windy night.
Onetigris iron wall stove chimney tent has a waterproof rating of 2000mm which is good enough to camp in the rainy season. But some water will come inside from the ground sides of the tent because you need to leave a gap on all sides to prevent dew from forming on the tent walls and to allow airflow.
Side gaps are not an issue because with any pole tent you need to leave some gap. It is also advisable to purchase a stove jack if you’re using a tent stove because it will pack the extra space on the stove window of the tent to prevent raindrops to come in.
If you’re sleeping in mesh then there is no need for an additional layer of protection from the wet ground but if you’re planning to sleep on the ground then it is a must to use a waterproof sleeping bag to protect yourself from wet ground.
If you have already used this kind of tent then you’ll be well aware of the ground you chose to set up the tent. So please make sure to set up your tent in plain ground that doesn’t have holes because the water can fill these holes by coming from the side gaps of the tent.
Overall the tent will protect you from a tent-like big umbrella.
Compactness and Portability
The tent will be packed to a very compact packable size of 17.7” x 5.5” x 5.5” (L x W x D) which is approx the size of a hand-sized round pillow. As we know only compactness is not important in camping, the weight matters too which is one of the important factors in buying tents.
And I think the Onetigris knows this very well because with this packed size the tent weighs about 3.4 lbs which makes it portable enough for backpacking trips.
You should not see the comfort only in the sleeping and seating experience. A good comfortable tent depends on many things. Where on some factors the Onetigris lacks and on some it performs great. Let’s discuss what it lacks: According to my experience, the stove window should be placed on the left side of the door because it made me uncomfortable getting inside the inner mesh.
The inner mesh is comfortable and of big size for a person to sleep comfortably and has a built-in bug net but the mesh inner liner needs to be fully unzipped to access all of the space of the teepee floor without crawling over the hot stove. Instead of the stove headache, everything is fine with this tent.
On winter camping the iron wall will keep you toasty warm according to the heat that the stove is producing inside the tent.
The triangular shape is known to be more sturdy, strongest, and provides immense support than any other shape. So as you know the tent is of a heptagon shape where it features the triangle shape which makes it stand strong even in heavy rain and winds.
If you’re intentionally going to camp in windy areas then you should set up a tent tightly in the ground for the required support.
Is it Good for the stove
As I already told you the stove window can be located somewhere else to make the whole experience more comfortable. So here a question comes: Is this tent is good for the stove? The answer is yes because instead of that one downside the tent is perfectly made to support your stove.
Just remember to use a stove jack because it will protect your tent’s skin from the hot chimney.
Now it’s time for the final question. Is the Onetigris iron wall stove tent worth buying? If you can manage to live with the stove coming in way to inner mesh then the tent is absolutely worth buying.
Because with this price the tent is giving you everything that it should give. You will remain dry in rain and warm in cold weather.
The mesh has a built-in mosquito net and is comfortable and has little more than enough space for 1 person but 2 can also manage to sleep. The heptagon shape with reinforced stress pints gives extra solid resistance from high winds.
