No, in my opinion, spyder jackets do not run small but there are very few jackets that run small or big in a way that it is good if you size up or down to get a perfect and mobile fit.
Spyder jacket is very well known among the avid skiers due to the amount of attention Spyder puts in its technical jackets is outstanding.
There is a lot to talk about technical jackets, which I’ll discuss in some other articles, for now, let’s discuss an in-depth brief on spyder jackets fitting and sizing.

How well spyder jackets fit?
I have to say that almost all spyder jackets run true to the size chart which is provided in this article.
As it is the duty of technical jackets which spyder is that they are not just manufactured but must be tested rigorously before launching it in the market and I think this brand, like any brand such as Arc’teryx, Patagonia, and The North Face, is doing this job correctly because the majority of people who wear the jackets regularly never complaint about their sizing.
But it is always recommended by most of the folks to take your own body’s measurements and then refer to the size chart and the fit finder tool, which if you did correctly then most probably you’ll also end up with the perfect fit.
Although, there are jackets like men’s timeless hoodies which can be size down if you’re around 5’8 but I’d not suggest doing this if you’re likely to layer it.
Similarly, a women’s Dolce GTX Infinium jacket is a spyder jacket that runs too tight and small so it is better to get a one or two size up.
If I being honest, one thing I notice in spyder jackets which others also agree is that the jackets are inclined toward the slimmer fit rather than a regular or relaxed fit which in my opinion makes the jacket a bit tight in the chest (yup, exclude the women’s jacket mentioned above).
However, none of their jackets (as much as I know) restrict the ease of movement and sits flexible in shoulders which we all know a ski jacket must-do for a comfortable free run.
As I said they are consistent with their size chart that’s why if you want a good fit then follow the size chart completely but if you want a baggy and more relaxed and roomier fit then consider going a size up than what is mentioned in the size chart.
